I have the kit also, and I don't believe it's real leather. The tool is great to have.
I was curious and went to look into it, Jerome’s IG had leather in the description. Never had a confirmation till now 😆

The hard case is definitely not leather, which is ok, but the weak link is the closing spring.
I've already had to replace it a few times, but so far they've comped me for it.

Yes. Description on the website says that it's "vegan" leather. The pill shaped cases that came with the Harrison, Clyde or Ari are also made of plastic and the ones for the Euphoria collection likewise. Some old cases from 6+ years ago might be real leather though.
AFAIK, the only hard case with real leather was the one that came with the Upsetters and Sidewalk Doctors for the ERD collaboration.

It can sound whiny to complain about something like cases, but I really think it's warranted.
For €920 there shouldn't be anything to complain about, yet there is (and even more serious stuff, like bad QC).
I'm fine with it not being real leather. I'm not OK with the hard cases being poorly aligned with bad springs. It's an easy fix for them to design a better case for larger frames.

Interesting info in the above posts thanks.

Something I’ve noticed recently, not specific to JMM but more generically, is the use of ‘leather’ to describe some man made material.

I suppose ‘PU leather’ is OK as at least the vendor is being up front, but to me ‘leather’ should at a minimum be some kind of animal skin.

The use of ‘vegan leather’ is a complete cop out to me, giving the impression that they’re on board with environmental and animal rights concerns when in reality it’s just some sort of plastic, oil based, non biodegradable, polyester substitute.

Right. Whenever I see the phrase vegan leather, it's very clear that it's some form of penny pinching disguised as ethics.

JMM Palisades did not burn down. So no price increase.
All those Native American symbols on the Last Frontier stuff worked wonders!
The thunderbird is used by Chinook and Salish tribes to ward off fire.. I wonder how well protected Jerome is against Trump Tariffs though:bounce2:

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
