I’ve seen a couple of times online that people have found a storage box made by the same manufacture as the JMM one but without the JMM branding and therefore much cheaper. However I’ve never seen a shared link to buy it.
Do you guys have any clue of where i could find this ?

I think you have to contact that manufacturer (Guichard) since they mainly do wholesale.

1269 and a few other stores also sell the same case, though at a markup.

Yeah I have two cases from Guichard. They’re not very well set up for e-commerce, everything is kinda analogue old school but top drawer customer service and excellent quality kit.

Went to the JMM Gallery in Hollywood yesterday for a browse, walked out with a pair of 1/50 Kellermans...I assumed they were long gone but since they had a pair left my window shopping trip became a shopping-shopping trip.

Anyway, the SA informed me that they will be raising prices starting Nov 1st. Don't know by how much, but if you have your eye on something, better get it soon

I bought a fake pair for about $50 from a Chinese website as an exercise in curiosity and to check size (and quality). They are Ascari in whatever name they had for very dark navy blue. They were numbered 00/100.

The frames just don’t suit me but the quality is very decent. Hard to tell the difference from the originals which of course makes us wonder why the originals cost so much! Came with a black pleather envelope style case but no box and papers so buyer beware if you’re looking for a bargain that doesn’t have the box and papers. Having number 00/XXX should be a dead giveaway along with the infamous ‘Mandcrafted’😀

It's a mixed bag. Some of them are good, some of them are bad, it depends on the style and how easy they are to make but the amount of fake JMMs knocking about at Silmo this year was insane. Reps, store owners. All wearing them. I've started working for a large American eyewear brand (sort of a competitor for JMM) and a prospective rep tried to show me "how frames should be made." He presented a pair of "JMMs" and I told him they were fake. I could tell by his face he knew they were fake, but he wasn't the first person I met that weekend wearing fake JMMs. If you know you know, so when it matters, the fake JMMs always get noticed. The dead give away is that the fakes, despite the shape being off are always 8mm.

That's unfortunate (the price increase, not your luck in getting an awesome frame). Eye exam scheduled for mid-november and was planning on getting a frame then through insurance. Might have to reconsider depending on size of the increase. Last time was $750 -> $820.

The profit margins on these frames are unconscionable! Worse, as the brand gets more visible and popular by all the Hollywierd folx, it will only get worse. When people ask me what I’m wearing, I never tell them or I tell them a fake French name. I for one will NOT contribute to these crazy price increases!!!!!

If true, that is just absurd. And yes the immediate giveaway is the 8mm thickness, how ignorant and desperate can one be.

Anyone have the Caan? It is difficult to find fit pictures of them. From the both I've been able to find, they look like they would work. Again, I guess I have medium sized face/head.

Well, they are definitely GOLD but, man, they are like the perfect aviator shape. I still would have preferred a brushed metal finish but I think the thinness of the arms goes a long way in avoiding that Elvis look @WBaker was referencing. Also, looking at the photo he posted, I'm not sure if it's the lighting, the phone, or the pair he tried on but mine appear far less yellow than the ones he tried on. (I'm going to assume it was the lighting. Can't imagine the other two variable would be that...variable.)
