Rootbeer > whiskey IMO. Is ocre the same acetate than whiskey, or is it a lighter shade? In any case every shade of brown/orange from darker to lighter in the hickory > rootbeer > whiskey > ocre > sunkiss/beige/etc list is really nice.

I just picked up my leopard Ascari after swapping the lenses to black… or should I say dark grey… I basically paid €76 to get the blue tint removed lol. I get so envious when I see anything by Anthony Aiden, where I live the only two stores that carry JMM have a super limited selection of standard colours for close to €80 and then if you want photochromic or gradient it’s like 2x that, and I think custom colours (forget about gradient) are even more. I thought a deep black was surely on the menu but it seems it’s not. I don’t trust other shops that only carry cheaper sunglasses because of the thick JMM acetate.

I’ll try to post pics in the coming days. Actually of my whole collection, I think it’s 8 pairs, hopefully 7 soon if I sell one of them) as I don’t expect additions anytime soon. I’ve been buying too much for the last couple of years, and not just sunglasses (leather jackets and boots are the other two things my wallet fears) and to be honest, there’s nothing currently that I like enough to consider buying. Walkers and Ascaris were the only two frames left in my wishlist, and I got them both in the past week. I sold my argyle Dealans because cateye doesn’t work for me but I knew I wanted something in argyle, and I had been wanting to try Walkers for a while now. And the leopard Ascaris because I missed out on the indigo ones so I bought Taos in that colourway instead. Leopard is not as loud IRL as in pics, which I expected. The only thing that can take me out of my “no-buy” state is if JMM releases hickory, rootbeer, whiskey or ocre Ascaris, I won’t be able to check out fast enough.

I think the last frame that piqued my interest was the Plaza (I actually got a pair), I think it’s as nice as the Fellini if not nicer although not everyone would agree. Nothing after that, I always keep coming back to the older designs.

PS: sorry for the long post, I’m a bit drunk.

How about one of the indigo taos? Debating that one myself
I posted a bad pic here: https://www.styleforum.net/threads/...american-dream.667536/page-1337#post-11927741

I can try to post a fit pic next week if you want.

Indigo is nice, however be prepared for it looking mostly black in most lighting conditions. Taos is my fave frame, and as I said above the indigo Ascari were my first option but was too late for those, then I wondered if I should’ve tried a pair of indigo Loewys as I already had another 2 pairs of Taos.

Actually I took a quick pic.
I’ve noticed something odd/concerning. In some pics the leopard colourway has some transparent parts in the temples, but not my pair.

I got my pair from Black Optical, any chance someone bought them and returned a fake pair?

Edit: in the pics from Harrods there’s no transparent bits, like in mine. Really odd.

Edit: MrPorter pics also don’t have transparency, nor in the FB group. I guess the official pics in the marble countertop were a prototype.

Is anybody's head too wide for JMMs? They tend to pinch the sides of my head.
Yes. Mine do. Especially my Kaines. They hurt right above my ears after a few hours. Sadly, I live in the Midwest where there are no competent opticians. They say they can’t be adjusted, and I know that’s just plain NOT TRUE! Do you all see what kind of flim flam I deal with here?!

Does anyone know where to get custom category 4 lenses?

I took my Devotos to Anthony Aiden to see if they have lenses that dark and they had no idea what I was talking about.
