anyone selling any kaine?
Might be willing to part with my Kaine in platinum. Like new condition, have not been worn.

What do people recommend from JMM as glasses/opticals (i.e., not sunglasses)?
Preferably something that doesn't have too much 'visual weight'.

Derek Guy previously mentioned Zephirin 47 and the Scarpa as potential options, but I'm curious if other people have different recommendations.

Kinda tricky--JMM design language is partly in the bold/heavy aesthetic. The Zeph is a great option because it is very wearable while style having some unique styling. some of the smaller/lighter optical options can start to look similar to other makers. What attracts you to JMM?

I'm mostly searching around for my first 'proper' pair of glasses (preferably with some visual interest). At this point I'm just assessing my options, and checking which makers/models are well-regarded.

Part of the problem is that, unlike with suits and formal shoes, I don't really have a good idea of how to judge glasses, assess fit, and check whether the glasses are congruent with your face/style. So if anyone has sources/articles/books to recommend for someone starting out, that would also be very helpful :)

Do you have a good shop near you? There is nothing to replace a good advisor helping you try on interesting frames. That's how I came across JMM. My local shop has always offered some interesting frames that I might not have picked off the shelf by myself.

Well. I’d say it depends on how big your head is. I’m a fat head myself, so I need a very wide frame. I also have a horse face (ie, very long), so chunky is best. Every face requires something slightly different.

These look great on you! Just out of curiosity: do people ever comment on the exposed wirecores on the side? Mostly asking because it's kind of an unexpected detail for opticals

Mine are over 2 years old so evidently the older models were only exposed on the inside also originally sunnies that I replaced with brown transition opticals. I still get a lot of compliments and questions about them.

Maybe it's changed since my rotation building days, but I remember it being color determined within the same model as far as exposed wiring on the outside temple.

I chose a certain Havana ( 3 or 4 can't remember ) for my Enzos because I wanted the exposed wiring. And a different Havana for my Molinos because I didn't...

As mentioned above, ever color has a different take on the exposed wiring. As you shop you will start to recognize which blacks frames have exposed vs interior wire core, silver vs gold, etc.
