I love all my frames, can't deny however that I have a soft spot for the Fellini.

Here's another joker selling a fake at a ridiculous price.

The final paragraph is humorous ... "Regrettably, the sunglasses packages are not available"

Just curious, what are some of the give aways that they are fake? I won't buy from eBay or Grailed out of fear of getting a fake, but just for good measure I'd like to learn some of the signs for fakes are (I make sure all of my frames say MANcrafted, HAHA!)

Yeah so no. I’m back everyone. Glad to see everything on the bulletin board went well while I was away.

Well. I did what I thought I would never do, right, and the thrill of it made my heart pound like a jack rabbit. I wore my hickory Kaines out on the lake while piloting a boat in some choppy water. I took a couple splashes which freaked me out, right, but the JMMs (Jacques Marie Mage) weathered it all quite well. I cleaned them up, and they seem ok. (It was a fresh water lake, TBH [to be honest]). I understand now why RegisDB9 takes the risk of wearing his assortment to the beach, right? It was absolute insanity and made me feel like a wild feller. Not sure that I’ll do it again, but at least I can say I did it.

I actually bought a pair of fake Belize and did a whole photo breakdown next to my real ones many many pages back. I'll see if I can find it for you

There are a few factors that should warn the buyer. Of course some are pretty obvious, like a never released colourway, or the print "MANCRAFTED" instead of handcrafted, or the number 00, other ones could be more difficult to spot.

I would avoid the purchase, for example, in case of absence of packaging and authentication card, also because, even if the frame is authentic, this lack would diminish its value. A warning bell would also be the non correspondance between the number printed on the frame and that on the card, also here: the frame could be authentic, but the original card is important too.

And, of course, a very low price would be a clear clue as well.

Finally, if you have already handled some frames, you will probably develop a sense for what is real and what is fake.

For me, obvious evidence that I bought fakes was 00 number, although I was not aware at that time how JMM marks their frames. But the quality was superb everything was so nicely done that even after acknowledging that they are fake I was still not convinced they are some kind of prototype(stupid me)...they had every mark, logo, CE number, detailed like the real ones. Lack of packaging was obvious sign also, and black real leather carry box(they are coming red or white ones), and poor printing on certificate it was somehow cheaply done(I know from my personal bussines to recognise this). I got money back with a even more stupid story from the seller hustler that I don't know anything, but he returned me the money. And he is still cheating people with JMM as after that he offered Zephyrin, Fellini and other fakes ones.

Glad to know that you were able to get your money back.

Another advice: if you aren't completely sure, avoid purchasing. Choose JMM website and official retailers instead.

I initially was thinking of putting in original JMM lenses in the Bronze colour, the one they originally used for this colourway, but it seems that they are not produced any longer, nor I was able to get their code.

In the end I'm pretty happy with my choice.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...if you don't already that exact legit frame at home to compare to, do not buy JMMs from resale sites. They are mostly fake on there and there are very very few ways to tell just from photos!!

Speaking of fakes, they never released the Ascari in hickory or rootbeer, did they? Because I found a pair for sale in eBay and when I search for those it takes me to AliExpress… they look good! (as in, the colour looks good in the Ascari).

Also, a huge disappointment this week: thought I had found a pair of indigo Ascaris a couple of days ago, they were showing up as available in an italian store, but they didn’t have shipping options outside Italy, I contacted them and they told me they did ship internationally, however that pair had been sold a couple of weeks ago and the inventory hadn’t been updated…
