As I see, a beautiful collection for the ladies.

those are gorgeous but I want them in black-ish ... I actually saw a pic of you wearing them and subsequently found this place ..... you .... are .... to..... blame

I think you're referring to this picture.

I have been considering the Edie myself, but there are a lot of more wearable frames out there.

I wanted to share my experience visiting a JMM store for those who might find themselves in the LA area (and just to help this thread get back on track in general lol).

I was in LA for work last last year and had some free time before my flight so was able to stop by the store on Abbot Kinney. I did make an appointment online, and while it certainly wasn't necessary to do so it did allow them to plan ahead and make sure there was someone available to answer all my questions and help me try things on. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything during my appointment and they seemed appreciative of me booking it, as it's a small store with a high level of service so even having 2-3 people in the store would make it quite busy for them.

Anyway, they had a good representation across the line and I was able to try on some "core" styles as well as others that I was less familiar with. I have a narrow head so many JMM models are too big for me; for that reason, trying their frames on is super important and may retailers don't have enough of a selection to really get a feel for the scope of the line.

One pair that was a pleasant surprise and weren't on my radar before was the Devaux (previously Loewy), which apparently has been a hot topic lately. Although it's been a popular model for a while it seems like there haven't been many offerings in this style recently so I hadn't really considered it. It's a great option for the pinheads like me and offers a more angular shape without the larger size of Fellini, Enzo, etc. The current Yellowstone offering in Prismatic is a bit out there but while worn appears much more like a tortoiseshell style. The upgraded polarized lenses are a nice touch as well. I ended up grabbing a pair.

Another service that they offer is cutting tinted lenses for their frames in-store. Because I had made an appointment and the store wasn't too busy, they were able to cut lenses for me in about 15 minutes. Getting standard tinted lenses was around $175; while that's more than what most third party opticians might charge it was nice to get the "official" JMM lens and pick between all of their colors (the only difference between the stock lenses and the ones they cut in-store is the latter doesn't have the "JJMM" etching). Another cool advantage of doing this in-store with JMM is that they were able to help me modify the lenses to my own needs. I was putting tinted lenses in my argyle Kellermans, and while I liked the blue fade lenses I also wanted something that wasn't too light as I have sensitive eyes and do need the tint to help me see. What we ended up doing was cutting the fade lenses "off center" so that more of the darker part of the lens was present, and the lighter fade part was more subtle at the bottom of the frame. For me, this was ideal because I still get some of the fade effect but with more eye protection. Overall I am very happy with the result.

All in all, had a great time and learned a lot about the products and in-store capabilities of JMM.

I think what he wanted to say is J**** f*********** C***** this thread (is **** of **** ******* and *****).
I honestly don’t know what all that gibberish means. If “jfc” means “just flippin close” this thread, then I would disagree. It got sideways for a few posts but was quickly righted straight away. This bulletin board is far, far too important.

Agreed on the Devaux Prismatic. Since I only started collecting this past August, I was late to the game for almost all Loewy/Devaux. Tried on my very first Devaux, the Prismatic, at the same Abbot Kinney shop and it instantly moved to the top of my list. The only reason I didn't pull the trigger is I eventually lucked into the Loewy VT. I may eventually still pick up the Prismatic at some point. It's a stunning colorway for the Devaux. Actually matched the hat I was wearing that day haha

fyi, the LeClair is finally out. I tried on an Agar and Breathe earlier today. The Shadow and Sand are apparently flying off the shelves

I also contend that hexagons are an S-tier sunglasses shape and are generally slept on.

Crossed one of the JMM hexagons off my list. Acquired these today, my second pair of this model, and am ecstatic to have landed such a stunning summer frame. Next on my list is probably one of JMM's octagonals, unless the Earl arrives sooner than expected
