Also the girl at the shop where I put the transitions lenses was a bit puzzled by my request of non-prescription photochromic lenses, I guess they're meant for people that need prescription glasses and don't want to carry separate sunglasses.

But I already had non-prescription photochromic sunglasses (those didn't get to completely clear though) and I find it so cool that they adjust to the light. Plus not having to take them off when going inside a supermarket or whatever is great, especially now that I take my 21 month old with me most of the time I'm outside, which complicates things (either pushchair or scooter, backpack to carry stuff).

I've done uncorrected transitions many times. I think it's actually pretty common.

Many thanks everyone for the feedback and the kind words.

Here's a pic of me in the hickory Taos (spoiler below), this shows how darker colours can make the glasses wear bigger than the lighter ones, hopefully they're still "JMM big" rather than "too big". I'm stoked, I fell in love with hickory after seeing the Hemmings (which are waaaaay too big), and none of the other current models available in that colour spoke to me (Vendomes were close but I prefer square/rectangular shapes). By mere chance I found that Durant Sessions in Vancouver had a pair, I thought these, just like hickory Fellinis, Dealans and other classic models would be long gone.

Also, bonus pics of the rest of my collection: argyle Dealans (with custom light brown lenses), noir 7 Fellini (with photochromic lenses), and beluga Plaza (I'll prob. put some amber lenses in these).

Also thinking of very light brown lenses for the hickory Taos. As I say it was the Hemmings that made me get interested in hickory in the first place.

Definitely the Hickory look also great, you can wear them proud!
Nice collection, Fellini is the best fit!

I always liked the look of bright orangey tort and thought that was one colour I’d like to add to the collection. I first went in pursuit of Vendomes in camel but they were hard find. I was also slightly perturbed by the variance in colour in the publicity pics which seemed to range from bright orange marmalade to dirty tan - which was the most accurate?

I ended up getting a deal on these Cutler and Gross (clear dummy lenses) but didn’t like them so they’re going back.

Molinos are arguably among the least excessive frames in the JMM range. Got these in camel discounted from End.

The pale yellow lenses are useless to me so I just went down to Fuse and got dark brown polarised lenses put in. $50. What say the SF JMM regulars?

Didn’t include jmm - good deals on other brands though
Did you try adding a JMM to the cart and going to checkout. I didn’t purchase any, but I did that, and they were about 10% off. Other brands has much more off than 10%. I can vouch for 1269. They are legit.

I think the Cutler and Gross frames look pretty good. Very similar to the Molino. You wear them both well. The Molino is such a versatile frame. I’m boring like that. Maybe it’s a Minnesota thing.

I have been looking at some of the new C+G frames recently. It’s been years since I’ve worn them. How did you find the quality? I wish there was a store near me that carried them. It might be nice to have the heavy visual appearance of JMM but not the physical weight.

Thanks for the thoughts. Like I said Molino is conservative so that also means versatile. If I needed prescription glasses I could easily wear these even with the slight yellow tint but it’s SUNGLASSES I need. Dorian is always trying to get me to be more adventurous with my frames so he won’t be impressed with these! I actually have a pair of Ray Ban Wayfarer ‘Ease’ - classic wayfarer shape but less aggressive panto angle - in similar colour which I got after seeing Hugh Grant wearing similar in ‘The Gentlemen’ - an excellent film and the fist time I’ve had any admiration for Hugh Grant - didn’t even recognize him at first!

The C and G are great quality. Very comparable to JMM in terms of chunky acetate but I think that photo above flatters me as they didn’t seem to look so good IRL. I will probably sell these and can provide more detailed pics if anyone’s interested.

I hope I didn’t offend you by saying the Molinos are boring. I was trying to say I’m boring and like more conservative frames.

You have a great style and can rock several JMM frames!

I have to wear eyeglasses sometimes up to 24 hours at a time, so the heavy JMM frames don’t always work.

No not at all no offense taken. We discuss this a lot and I admit like you to leaning towards the less extravagant JMM frames. For me there’s a happy medium when the trademark JMM chunky acetate intersects with a sorta retro classic angular frame. I recently got the Ashcrofts and they hit the absolute sweet spot for me. I have a rounded out collection now and don’t lust after anything out there right now but if they brought out more Ashcrofts in attractive colours I’d cave in instantly!

snatched a pair of lf cody’s on therealreal for $850. Fully expect these to look horrible on me, but hard to at least give it a shot at that price and with a return policy. Does anyone on here wear them well?
