I need to get the sleeves let out some so that this jacket will fit my arm length. The buttons are non-working.

Am I going to run into the issue of the buttons looking misplaced when I get this tailored?

If so, what's the typical fix?

depends on how much you need letting out

and afaik if the stitching is just for effect, then it's an easy job to unpick and restitch- while you're at it you can get the button holes made to be fully functional. I think it costs about $5 per button
