So I'm going to start off by saying... This jacket is oversized. I know that. I'm not really asking if it "fits" in the traditional sense -- the shoulders hang over my own, the body is decidedly relaxed. I'm asking if the resulting effect works well or not. Is it *good* relaxed or *bad* relaxed? I've gotten mixed opinions from others.

Also, I obviously know the sleeves are long, that's a trivial fix.

I'll lead with the head-on boring fit check, and then throw in two posed shots.

It's a Drake's reversible games jacket in 44. I got it at a sample sale. I should have kept looking for soemthing in a 42, I guess... but now the question is really -- do I sell it or keep it?

It doesn’t fit, so get rid of it. I’m not sure it’s a garment given to alterations.

2nd and 3rd photos look good to me.

If you will wear and enjoy it, then keep it.

If you won't feel comfortable wearing it, then sell it.

Just because the sleeves are rolled up.

I agree with Fogg that it doesn't fit you and you. Since you got it at the sample sale you could easily recuperate your loss when selling it on eBay.

The sleeves are the real problem (too longa nd too bulky). The body of the jacket is perfectly fine to all but the most critical viewers (i.e., this board). It's not supposed to be fitted, and I'm not convinced something more fitted would work with your body shape.

These cropped, Harrington/Harrington-inspired jackets look dumpy on everyone. I'm including Valstarinos in this too.

If this jacket's fit was any closer, it'd give him a 'belly', even if he doesn't have one. I agree with nmprisons that this jacket shouldn't be fitted.

its an unfortunate combinations of the arms being too long but the body being a proper fit.

I wouldn’t want to wear it, however, knowing that I would have to roll the sleeves each time. It’s not worth it.

OP could post the pictures in the tailoring thread and see what others have to say.

If he doesn't mind, it looks like the entire cuff can be lopped off and it may be fine.
