Jacket Fit Check

Hi everyone,

I recently tried on a sport coat and had a few fit questions for the forum. I'm a smaller guy and generally find that 36R coats are still a bit too broad for me. The coat pictured is an off the rack 36R from J Crew. Do the shoulders seem too broad in this jacket? Does the button stance seem too low? Could I purchase other jackets in this same size and make them work with alterations?

If this fit doesn't work, I may not be a great candidate for OTR jackets. Does anyone have any recommendations where someone my size could find blazers and suits at reasonable prices?

Thanks for your help!

Shoulders do look extended and button stance too low on the jacket. Both issues are infeasible fixes. Try suitsupply who carry 34s and 32s and have higher stances, or go to an MTM house.

SuitSupply looks fantastic! Thank you for the recommendation!

I agree with your points about the posted jacket, but wanted to get some validation. Glad to hear that I wasn't off base.
