Jack Harrison hair/Undercut ponytail hairstyle

Hi everyone! Was wondering if anyone could help me with a hairstyle I'm trying to go for. It's currently adopted by Jack Harrison the English footballer. It's simply an undercut with a ponytail but I'm struggling with it lol. The part I'm struggling with is that texture/frizziness or whatever it is that comes out through the hair tie. My hair is straight so it usually comes out of the hair tie straight. What can I do to give it the same effect as Jack's? Is there some kind of product I need to use? What am I doing wrong exactly? I've attached a picture of my hair too so you guys can see the difference.

I believe a man should have short, simple hair. My son has a Rat Tail Hairstyle. I’ve considered cutting it off in his sleep.

As a veteran of the hair wars of the 1960s and 1970s, issues concerning the length of boys’/men’s hair always get my dander up.
Your son is an adult. It is not your place to decide how long/short his hair should be. And, really, unless he asks for your opinion it isn’t even your place to try to convince him that your idea of personal style is better than his.

His body/his choice; his hair/his choice. It is all the same.

Many years ago I worked with a woman who had the same opinion you do concerning men’s hair length. Lorna was an older, rather controlling woman. At the time “rat tails” were in style for men.

I would honestly say avoid these stupid trendy haircuts and go for something traditional, that isn't going to make you look like a tw@t in photos in ten years time. Make the best of your hair whilst you still have it!!!
