Gents-

I know that Press has a Japanese parent company, but do they have any Japanese only goods? I don't think I've ever seen any. Do they ever produce suits in Japanese sizes? What about shirts in metric?

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity!

Not sure about today,
but several years ago, Mark McNairly designed a completely different line for the Japanese.
I would guess that the clothing is sized for the Japanese. I inherited a set of shirt patterns. one set
is marked for japan. shirts as well as sleeves were much shorter.

J Press makes a Japan only loungewear diffusion brand called W.L.C. (Woodland Club). Nothing too eye catching, but I do like their collection of Jeans and Chinos made from Cotton Jersey (with fabric texture printed on). looks quite comfortable

I first saw a J. Press T-shirt on a young Japanese colleague when I was in Kobe with Boston U. MBA program in 1988 and was surprised it was so popular here. That was the bubble years of the Japanese economy, and there was a "preppie boom" at that time. J. Press boutiques is now inTakashimaya Department stores. The sizes are definitely Japanese....I have sizew 35 sleeves and could not get a suit that would fit me...they also do order made to measure suits from those boutiques....
