Just wondering, how long and what amount of wear it took for this to happen ?

About 8 wears in a span of 2 years, each wear consisting of about 2 hours.

I've had my british shoes for 5 years, with WAAAY more wear time, and they still look GREAT, no cracks or anything.

J fitzpatrick shoes are beautiful looking but in my experience they are not durable, I own other brands such as trickers, cheaney, gaziano girling and alfred sargent and they still look pretty much as new after years of use, now I am no shoe expert but the "cracks" from the photographs below I haven't seen them in the other brands I mentioned.

That's not been my experience at all.

I have pairs from 2013 that I still wear regularly now, and which ook great.

Your's look like they need a resole in any case - and whilst I don't know you and have no real reason to disbelieve you - they look more worn that one would expect for 8 wears. Incidentally, what model are these?

And is that a ridged heel/sole?

Love the color of my Berry suede loafer. I wish there's was a chukka version.

Just pulled the trigger on an MTO Broadview button boots. It's unfortunate for me that anything smaller than a size 7 in men's has to be MTO as it's not a stock size.

What color pants are you pairing the navy with?
My initial thought was fall/winter: Flannels
  • Medium grey
  • Cream/buff/white
  • Tobacco/snuff/Rust
  • Pink
  • Lavender/purple

For spring/summer
  • Seersucker
  • Oxford cloth (blue or light grey)
  • Some sort of worsted in tan would look nice too I think

After you asked this I was remembering -
When I first placed the order, I was fretting whether the brownish tan/blue combination would foreclose too many colors of pants.

Then after a couple of days I thought, "Well, that piping is discreet enough that it shouldn't dictate the whole outfit." and then I stopped thinking about it. I think that is the case after seeing it in person.

When I ordered them, I was thinking that blue/tan looks a nice combination for luggage, wallets, and the like (at least to me), and so why not try it for a pair of shoes?
