I like it, but check the color. I think the only one they have left is the brownish color.

I owned one of those jackets for a few days 3 or 4 months ago. It's one of those items that Crew never keeps in the store so you have to order it from the Red Phone, like you're calling the Kremlin. As is the case with many crew garments, it wasn't cut with me in mind. I also thought it was of fairly low quality. The worst thing about it was the noise. It made an alarmingly loud swishing, swooshing sound as I moved, which seemed to be caused by the lining rubbing against the facing. I returned it on my next trip to the mall.

Its a nice looking jacket but it is not worth it if its poorly made. You get what you pay for!

That member of the A/W '08 J. Crew thread would probably be me. And no, I did not think it was all that poorly made actually, for the price. I just didn't like the fact that it was partially lined, and there was some other reason I don't remember at the moment (probably fit-related). And yes, I understand that partially lined is supposed to be a sign of quality for some folks.

I think another reason I returned it was probably because I don't need to wear blazers that often, and I kept the other herringbone blazer that J. Crew had available at the time.

IIRC, you mentioned something about light shining through.

Anyway, partially lined is NOT neccessarily a sign of 'quality' - instead it is more a guide to the jacket's quality in the sense that the visible seams in partially lined jackets need to be finished more neatly when they are exposed.
