J Crew Urban Slim Fit Change - Need An Alternative!

I used to buy 30x34 formerly known as Urban Slim fit chinos from J Crew all the time. Broken-in chinos were perfect while essential chinos were a little tight in the calf and thigh.

Recently, J Crew changed these slim fit styles to The 770 and made the thigh and calf tighter. According to the website, for the size 32x32, leg opening is now 14.75" whereas former Urban Slim fit chinos' leg opening was 15.5" for the same size (http://s261.photobucket.com/user/albertbolt/media/urbanslimfit19488.png.html). This change is pretty significant for a guy like me who have decent thigh and calf.

I recently bought a new 30x34 The 770 pair from J Crew and it's way too tight for me. I have relatively slim waist (30~31 depending on brand), but my thigh and calf aren't small. It really stinks as Urban Slim fit chinos were my staples for a long time.

I need an alternative now that fit my body profile. 30~31 waist, 34 inseam, decent size thigh and calf (need at least 15" circumference leg opening), looks slim, but not too tight.

Here are the pants I have tried so far.

BR's Aiden slim fit pants - a little tight for me in the calf (31x34)
BR's Emerson straight pants - fit is pretty decent, but not satisfied with the quality compared to J Crew (31x34)
Express' Photographer non-iron pants - fit is not bad, a little too much room in the crotch, quality is not great (31x34)

Next on the list are Club Monaco's Davis chinos and Bonobo's slim fit chinos. Would Brook's Brothers fit me well? It seems like Milanos is popular for slim guys, but I doubt my calf will fit. I would sincerely appreciate your recommendation. Thanks.

Have you considered Epaulet's Rivets or Driggs? I know they are a little more expensive, but they are also much better quality. I think one of those cuts might be what you're looking for.

I considered Epaulet a couple of times and waited for a sale. Unfortunately, they never had a sale for the pants I wanted, so I held in for a while. The main problem I have with other brands like BR or Express is that their chinos' crotch design is super strange. There is so much fabric in that area, which makes it look "baggy." I understand the importance of extra space in that area, but it looks like I am having permanent erection (could not find a better way to put it).

Which one would you recommend out of Rivets or Driggs?

What are your thighs measuring out to? My glutes and thighs are sizable from weight training, so I get what you mean. I need a 24 inch thigh width to work comfortably.

If you want to stay with j crew. You could try their Bowery pants regular fit. Brooks brothers Milano is a good chino to try. A bit slimmer than the Bowery pant from j crew.
