There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Edit- I guess it could be worse.

Edit 2- It couldn't be worse.

really? i mean many people here have the grey or regular chambray, or at least some other utility shirt. how is anyone surprised that this would be anything other than a variation on an existing pattern?

If you like it keep it. Don't worry about what people on the internet say. I am just shocked it looks like this.
You really shouldn't be shocked...I know I've mentioned this before but, again, red chambrays almost always look pink due to the red and white threads used in the fabric. Although they don't have to be, colored warp and white weft is pretty much the standard for chambrays.

I'm sure my photos are not doing it justice, but I won't lie. The color of the shirt of my photos represents the color of the shirt almost to the T. So if you guys are looking for a red chambray, look elsewhere. This thing is sunwashed/bleached or whatever you wanna call it. But none the less an shirt that is essential to my spring/summer lineup.

Edit: yea there is def white all built within the shirt.

I thought it would look like this from the preview shoot.

I thought I might regret passing on the red chambray but now I'm definitely glad I passed on it.

No doubt. I can picture a old farmer in Kansas wearing this shirt under his overalls chewing on a straw of hay. A hankerchief bandana hanging out his back pocket as he waddles down his dusty dirt driveway. Sweating from the hot sun and cursing up a storm about nothing.

first of all the shirt looks fine. second of all, you guys saw a J Crew lookbook photo and didn't think it was altered? contrast, color enhancement, like 6 clothes pins, popped collar ?!!? I guess that's the internet for ya though.

    From Robert:
    Screw the Red Chambray
Only decent shirts worth picking up so far this season are the celtic green and plantation hill madras.

Come on...do the colors in that photo resemble anything you see in real life? And it's not like J.Crew is known for taking true to life photos of their clothing in the first place anyways..

Why did Robert get banned !? I miss the dude.

The talk of the Timex watch suffered also because of his absence.

btw; I also bought the Cadet jacket which runs smaller then most other J.Crew otherwear (which is a plus IMO).

I bought it in faded black....and the thing looks almost green ! lol

I think the whole button up + tie + cadet jacket (buttoned once) looks great.

Good point, but the color looks nothing like the preview photo. It looks like a different shirt.

I find it interesting that on the EG S/S 10 thread the color of the red chambray was greeted with enthusiasm, and here largely scorn even though it's basically the same sun-faded red. IMO-it looks great. Yes, its lighter than the lookbook color, but that's to be expected. I can't wait to get one still. Unfortunately, its not at my local high-end store and its not online yet either. Anybody have an idea of when it will be available online?

Can someone remind me of the style number on the red chambray? I still want to order it and plan to head over to the store tomorrow to see if they have it/order it with free shipping.

The color of the shirt looks just like EG's. But EG's has much cooler details. [IMG]

Garden State Mall (New Jersey). Paramus.

They also had a waxed peacoat for about 225 that is not online.

The SA told me they would be getting another shipment in within the next week or two.
