Wow, I dig the cotton surplus sweater! I hope the store has it--might be worth taking a look at.

Yeah, I'm in the same situation...and have the same bad feeling about the shirt.

My xs chambray-

S - 16.5
ptp - 18.25
L - 28.5

I think the measurements are slightly deceiving though. I don't own any of the secret wash shirts anymore- but I swear the chambray has lower armholes than the secret wash shirts. If I remember correctly my secret wash had a larger ptp, yet the xs chambray fits me perfectly in the chest and as I said above I'm between S and XS for the secret wash shirts.

I was lukewarm on their jeans at first, but I bought a pair of selvedge jeans that have been terrific. I love the fabric and the initial fit. My only complaint is that I did not account for stretch when I bought them - they are a full two sizes bigger now than when I bought!

I bought a grey sweater from Gap a few weeks before some of the ones I purchased at J Crew and it's held up infinitely better! I'm indeed surprised.

My wool sweater started pilling after two three wears. I probably wore it every other day for two weeks, and it is pilling like crazy now. Ridiculous for a $168 retail sweater.

I just measured my current season gray chambray in XS, and got: Shoulders: 17" Pit-to-pit: 19.25" Length: 29" Then again, mine hasn't been washed yet. Just throwing another set of numbers out there, though.

My blue chambray (unwashed) from this season is the same measurements as my grey one from this season (washed, hang dried).

Thinking about getting this shirt; http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/Mens...3304/23304.jsp

Anyone seen it in stores?

I emailed "Jack" and he said the measurements go as following; "The XS is measured at 39.5" around and the S is 42.5" around. Hope this helps." I tend to bounce between XS and Small but it seems like for this the X-Small is a bit larger than usual.

Hmm, weird. Are you only measuring seam-to-seam? I measure all the fabric, which is a bit beyond that.

I measured from the outside edge of one seam to the outside edge of the other, but yeah measuring all of the fabric mine is then about the same as yours.

^ Yeah, I think it's better to measure all the fabric. Where the actual seams lie can vary from shirt to shirt, but measuring the whole width will always reflect the actual amount of fabric that's going around your chest (although armhole height is still a factor, of course).

I saw them in store yesterday. They sat with gray chambrays together.

I have this shirt from last year when it was called the camp shirt. Well it looks almost exactly the same. I'm normally a small in everything outside of jcrew ie. band, w+h....and an XS fits perfect. I normally buy all my jcrew shirts in XS, my only complaints are the sleeves are always a little to baggy for XS and the collar is always too small.

I just emailed them requesting the measurements of a coat.
Do they have the measurements of all sizes taken and stored in the system? I'm curious 'cuz I was told all size smalls have been sold out, how could they manage to get the measurements at this moment?
