I think its only inflated a bit compared to to a regular Mac price, just like they do with the rest of their collabs (Baracuta ~220 -> 275, and Mister Freedom ~800->890)

yeah, that's probably right. I now see they have a harrington jacket that the price is slightly inflated compared to the original baracuta's.
however, I really think J crew is getting better every season.
Hope they make stuff slimmer though. much more like BoO kinda sizing but slightly bigger fit would do great. O'well that's just a hope for a short guy like myself.

I wonder how many customers they would lose, since their clothes would be too small, if they did that...

Some of the new spring stuff looks interesting like the slim t-shirt and what they call the 'urban' slim fit chino.

J Crew isn't made for you guys. It's made for Joe public, that's why the Medium's fit like Xl. It's vanity sizing to make that average consumer feel good abut themselves.

Huh? You mean it's not made for anyone who isn't junkie model thin? Or doesn't like his clothes to look painted on or like he's wearing his kid brother's stuff?

I'm not overweight, I'm thin, just past 6', and Larges fit me perfectly.

I'm 5-10 175, and I usually wear a L or XL. In J Crew. I have to size down to medium.

I think you're exaggerating. I'm also 5'10, but 160. If I were to put on a large shirt/sweater, let alone an XL from ANYONE, I would be swimming in it. 15lbs isn't that much of a difference. If I try to wear J. Crew smalls, their stuff is too short or too tight in the chest. I think their sizing is pretty decent, maybe a hair big. But its certainly not a whole two sizes off.

I ******* hate sizing. I hate how I'm a medium in J. Crew's items, how I'm wearing a size small coat from Macy's that fits perfectly, but how if I go to Nom de Guerre, I squeeze into a ******* extra large.

somewhat off-topic, but could anyone owning one of j crew's tailored fit shirts be kind enough to post a pit-to-pit width measurement? thanks.

edit: right, the size: a medium. but yeah, i should probably email customer service.

It would help to know what size you want.

Pit to pit on an XL is 25. Jcrew customer service is great for this stuff.

Im not exaggerating. I bought a shawl collar wool sweater and it's a medium. It would normally be an l or XL which I wear in most boutique brands.
