The good Burberry coats start at a grand.

I picked up a herringbone wool J. Crew Sutherland overcoat on sale this winter. It was promptly returned. It wasn't even on the same planet at Burberry. I agree with Robert on this one, the J. Crew coat is worth about 1/10th the price of something like a Burberry coat, not 1/4.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate on J. Crew as much as some people do on here even though I joke about it. I get at least a handful of sweaters and shirts every season. We gotta call it what it is though. One of my co-workers has a nice winter overcoat that he got at Abercrombie & Fitch of all places, for $90 and the quality was on-par, if not better, than the J. Crew one that I had. It fit him better too.

Yeah, I know. But I doubt the J Crew is even 1/4 of Burberry quality. Price just seems out of line for the product.

And like Lysol, I'm not a J. Crew hater. In fact, I probably love their stuff more than most people here do. But sometimes their prices are just wrong, and in fact I hardly ever buy J. Crew at full retail.

Is this the vintage style sweatshirt (they only have it in blue and natural right now)?
Might be. I saw it in my local store and it's not that great.

Yeah, it doesn't look too great. Did they have it in heather gray?

I wonder how long it will take for the liquidation to begin like it did for f/w.

Damn, that MF coat is nice. I'd definitely pick it up with my student discount if I had 750 to burn.

Mine are like that too. The thing that pisses me off most is that they don't stock extra small tops or 28-29 waist bottoms.

Ah well, J.Crew isn't really my thing anyway.

I remember J crew had a navy Mackintosh trench coat on their website. was about 700 bucks. and wow. sold out very quickly.
do you guys think it's worth the money??? I recently found a similar navy trench on Baracuta website. and was priced much less than the J crew one. Why is the J crew trench so expensive? because of the high quality Mac fabric they used or what?
    just out of curiousity.

I think that jacket is a straight-up Mackintosh jacket and not a J Crew jacket made with Mac fabric. If it is, that would justify the price.
