yeah ... i checked their site out too recently. they've got some markdowns on cashmere sweaters. i've never shopped at J. Crew, but I think I might pull the trigger on a few things tonight.
Neither had I, but I wanted to dabble in RTW peacoats, and the Bayswater seemed like a good option at $120 shipped.

They've had some sort of sale almost every day since Black Friday. I doubt there will ever be more than the current 30% off (if you go through ebates you get an extra 6%).

Maybe I'm finally growing up. I went in to the store today thinking I wanted to pick up a washed favorite tattersall shirt or two, and ended up pondering the Ludlow dress shirts, especially the white spread collar. (I already have 3 of the Ludlow spread color shirts in blue, purple, and a pattern--but the white shirts look very crisp.) I kept thinking, I need a couple of these for my new suit and my blazers.

So ultimately I couldn't decide what to spend my money on and left the store. I'll probably be back tomorrow.

The ludlow shirts do look great every time I'm in there, but too small in the collar and details for any of my power suits from the 80s.

Should just get them anyways. The white does look very crisp

I have to size up from my usual medium if the Ludlow shirt is to wear with my suit. A medium fits perfectly but I can't button it for a tie. A large is perfect in the neck for tie wearing, however. So I have to buy the Ludlow in a large and get it taken in a little and sometimes get the sleeves just slightly shortened.

Comments on J. Crew Ludlow shirt quality vs. other similar shirts in that price range?

I'm in desperate need of moving on from my battered Uniqlo shirts worn for work.

Thanks.

I am sad I wasn't able to get the Wallace and Barnes cable cardigan--it sold out really quick.... Even after they hiked the price up from $128 to $225......! They were willing to do a price match for me plus the 30% off.....but no Medium available :(

I've tried the 484 fit in size 32x32 which is my normal size and found it to be a little too tight in the thighs. So I asked them how much bigger in the thighs the next size up would be and it turns out a little less than half an inch or so. Turned out to be perfect all around :D 33x32

I highly recommend the Sun Faded 484 fit pant in University Purple -- on sale for $50 (plus another 30% off).... Really nice color I think

Anybody have any experience with this season's oxford shirts? The plaid ones I have all are consistent in terms of sizing, the solid colored one I got is slimmer. Anybody else notice this?

The solid ones are a bit shorter too - more consistent with last year's offerings. The patterned ones are slightly longer and have a bit more in the body.
