Hello All,

I am a college kid and have managed to save up $3500. I love the look of the Portofino (the more complex ones) and Portugueser. Can I find a used for 3500? I can stretch to 4000 if absolutely need to, but thats about it.

Is that wise? I mean, make do until your job picks up and you're out of college, but dropping that much in college personally isn't a smart idea. But that's just my two cents...

I understand, but I've saved up for this for years and I've always wanted to have a watch that I can keep for a lot of years and pass on... it's more of a sentimental thing. Is it possible to get an IWC for 3500? I live in NYC if that helps.

If you can't afford a portugieser, please keep saving up. And it's gonna be close for 3.5k, but I still wouldn't settle for a pf.

I feel that you can get similiar or better quality watches for less. It isn't like the watch is going to appreciate in value (most don't). IMO you should do more research. At that price level, you have hundreds of other options. Settling on IWC is brand whoring to the max.

You've already saved this long...save a bit longer. Really not smart to spend that kind of money on that kinda stuff at this point in your life...

Save up.

Get the watch you really want.

Love it.

BTW don't be put off by the sticker price. You can often save up to 50% by going there. Don't bother asking on the phone. They will be paranoid you are from IWC.
