Thought it might be interesting to see what everyone's favorite quotes are, be they philosophical, humorous, political, or otherwise. Feel free to post why you like them as well. A little context is always good.

One of my favorites is by John Stuart Mill:

"It is better to be a human being dissatisfied than a pig satisfied; better to be Socrates dissatisfied than a fool satisfied."

I like the notion that that there is a qualitative difference between higher and lower order pleasures.
