Airline food is bland because of the noise.

Even if it does affect taste sensations, I'm pretty sure that airplane food just sucks, and that it has something to do with trying to keep ticket prices as low as possible and making food that has to be reheated or kept warm for hours before it's served.

+1. I was curious as to why first-class airplane food tends to taste better than coach in spite of similar levels of background noise. Also, loud bars with good food, street food, parties, etc.

This doesn't account for why food that I bring on to a plane myself tastes just fine...

How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

  • I don't want to spend money at a time of economic uncertainty, even if I could afford it.

  • I feel compelled to spend to help small businesses that are struggling.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
