Seriously, my logical, engineer of a wife has always refused to let me buy her jewelry with diamonds in it, as she doesn't want to take part in supporting the world wide monopoly on diamonds. However, she did let me get her a nice wedding band/engagement ring set. It seems that for some things, even logic and political beliefs can get trumped.
