For those of us in Texas.. especially for those with burnt orange blood, the greatest time of the year is about to begin...

Road trips to Austin (a mere 200 mile drive from Dallas)... great Mexican food or bar-b-q before the games... Maker's Mark or margaritas beforehand.. a crispness in the air... thousands of beautiful women

100,000 Longhorn faithful packed into the stands... the color, the pageantry of college football ! The bands, the pom squad young women, the sights, the sounds.

A victory cigar after the game as you walk back to your car.. stopping at a number of post game tailgates to drink up.

If still hungry... going out for whatever the food mood is.

There is nothing like a college football game weekend in a college town.

    Let the good times roll.

Georgia State goes undefeated this year, and we have the best record in Georgia of Div I schools!

Panther Pride, hail to the University,
Panther Pride, your name will live in history.
    We'll fight for your honor,
    And sing of your fame,
Carry the glory of Georgia State's name.
We hear the echoes past, they call to fast break to the line,
To win the game each time.
    So take your hats off
To the blue and white and red team
And cheer for dear ole Panther Pride.

I was going to start a similar thread. I'm so excited I don't know how I'm going to get through the week!

Why would I do that? The Big XII has nothing on us. That's going to be a great game, but I think Georgia wins. I believe the defense is going to be much better this season, given they're hitting in practice again, and I don't think we'll need much offense to tear apart a soft Big XII D.

    Greatness...

Oh.. as for the Dawgs and Okie Lite this weekend... Okie Lite's defense is the succ. They have a great running back and wide receiver and a very servicable quarterback. If the Dawgies can get their offense together... who knows.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. I think Georgia will take it in a lower-moderate scoring game. Georgia's offense has the talent to score quite a bit, especially on a softer defense. I think Georgia will show up with a good enough offense to win, assuming the defense doesn't revert to arm tackling and playing out of position.

The only way Oklahoma State can win is in a shootout where Georgia's defense shows it hasn't improved over last year and the offense can't keep up. I don't think that's going to happen.
