OK -  I just wanted to share the news. My wife gave birth today (Monday, July 7, 2003) to a healthy baby boy. 8 lb, 4 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. It's our first. His name, John Bradford (of course).  For those who are curious here's a link to a picture taken about 2 minutes after they pulled him out - John Bradford  For those who can't tell, I'm quite excited Â

yes - congratulations to the three of you. Mine is 3 months old and this is a great adventure.

I hope you can take some time off from work to stay at home and get to know the guy. That has made all the difference for me.

You're in for the best experience of your life...

We'll have to look for Kiton onesies for you. Get him started young...

Thanks guys for all your comments and encouragement

Stu -
I'm a little tired, but it's not too bad yet. I think my wife is more tired than I am since she is nursing him. I'm trying to do my part by changing him when necessary. I'm also trying to encourage my wife to nap during the day while he sleeps, but we've had so many visitors in the first week that it's been tough for her. I think things will taper off here soon though (at least the visitors).

Steve B. - "Kiton onesies" - too funny.

Well, in a selfish way, you are fortunate she is nursing, that means you don't have to get up every 2 hours. In my case we were using formula, and it was every 1 1/2 hours on the dot, the baby started crying. I got to where I was wandering around in a sleep deprived daze. I've never known what it is to be tired until I had a kid. By the age of 6 weeks, though, the little tyke should be settled in to a 10-hour undistrubed night, though.
