Hello Everyone,

I'm going to be in Rome for 12 days starting on Friday. I'll be in Rome, Naples and Florence. I'm obviously interested in doing some shopping while in Italy, and looking at the following - suits, shoes (casual and dress for suits), sports coat, jeans, shirts. I guess my questions are as follows:

- Is any city better than the other when looking for the above, or are they all pretty similar?
- Is it worth looking at factory outlets? If so, what's the best place for this? Rome, Florence? Have read The Mall near Florence is good.

I've heard that sales are on in August, but I might be too late as I don't hit Florence until September. If it's not worth looking at the factory stores, is it a better bet to just try and pick up good deals at stores in Florence, Rome or Naples, rather than risk going all the way to an outlet not to find anything? I'm a pretty regular size (40 / 50).

I obviously don't want to spend my whole trip shopping and looking at stores so would ideally like to pinpoint one leg of my trip. However, don't want to leave it to Florence say if the buying is going to be better in Rome.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. My thinking at this stage is that pricing is going to be similar in all three and the range the same (perhaps Naples better for tailoring), but happy to get some suggestions.

I am in a similar situation, going to Rome next week and looking to buy dress shoes for a wedding and future formal events. I heard sales will continue till mid-September. I am looking to spend around $300AU, where are the best places to find decent Italian shoes at that price?
I have been told Via Condotti but did a little research and it seems like a pricey area. Are the outlets any good?

TIA
