Italian Shoes

I am going to Italy next month and would like to have bespoke shoes made by Ugolini or Peron & Peron. There are some great Peron & Peron examples in Last Magazine (Volume 7) and they have a pretty decent website, as does Ugolini. I'm a huge fan of Lattanzi but his shoes are about 7K these days. I love Novegese construction in general and have noticed several different styles of stitch when going through the shoe Appreciation threads. Is there any structural difference between the zig-zag chain stitch and the neat, two or three row welt type? Also, does anybody have any pictures of Peron & Peron, Ugolini, etc. that they could post? Thanks for the help.

Bespoke shoes are a IMHO a personal experience between you and the maker. I had 1/2 a day in Florence and 1/2 a day in Bologna to find out with whom I wished to proceed. You have probably seen the photos from il micio in Florence. was also impressed with Stefano Bemer's bespoke shoes. Ugoloini not so much, I really got on with the Peron family. I did take some pictures, Il be sure to do a post. Possibly by this weekend. Peron e Peron have tis sample to show various Norwegese stitching.

His pride and joy is the hand stitched Norwegese...
