Hello there,

I'm looking for some 'made in italy' or real Italian brands. They need to be affordable...!

"affordable" is meaningless without context.
also are you looking for tailored clothing (suits, sportcoats, ties), casual clothing, both?

Easy....just look to see if it reads "Made in Italy"

By the way, I love these queries. Someone wants "made in Italy" but they don't want to pony up the money and want it to be affordable...whatever that means.

I devoured all three of those articles (and a few to which they linked). I think the most telling lines (NYer piece) concern the pay issue between the Chinese manager and the African workers. Eventually, even the Chinese laborers become too expensive for the sweatshops...

I am having clothing made in Tunisia, it would be straight forward to ship the items to Southern Italy and add a few buttons or embellishments such as embroidery. Then hey presto! It qualifies as Made in Italy.
