The other day well in the mall I walked by the Banana Republic and what do I see in the window, but a display with a mannequin wearing blazer and POCKET SQUARE. Won't be long until pocket squares are the "next big thing" (again).

First BR, then JC Penny, then Walmart.

No kidding.

This post is full of fail. People spent much time on this forum lamenting the loss of the golden days and how people don't wear ties, pocket squares and nice shoes any more and then when there is an effort to "bring it to the masses" the reaction is the opposite of what one would expect.

I'm also seeing kids wearing brogues on the street. Are they dead?

Take solace in the fact that the BR squares have machine-sewn edges, whereas we wear hand-sewn squares.

I think everyone wants praise from the masses but not for them to be like them. SF elitism FTW!

+1 ... and i'll never understand the BR hate around here. i wouldn't hold them up as some bastion of sartorial excellence, but they are nowhere near as bad as people here make them out to be, especially on discount. and i do appreciate their effort to bring more traditional things to the mass market, instead of just another massively overpriced t-shirt or over distressed jeans.

That's because what they really want is for the well dressed dead to walk the earth again.
