It gets better with age

Both these pairs are about 10 years old. I polish them every so often, other than that they have aged naturally.

I am very fond of the patination of the Loake (compare the change in coloration with the unworn pair in front). However the Crockett’s leather has held up better with age, although you’d expect that at the higher price point.

I’d love to see everyone else’s old shoes that have patina’d gracefully. 🙂

I’ve only had this pair for 18 months, so it is not old by any means, but it’s coming along… it is called ‘Edwardian antique’. It was quite a light tan when new - but is turning a shade darker with wear and polishing.

Also, it was very tight to begin with, but now fits comfortably.
