Issue with bespoke suit at Cad & The Dandy - please help

Hi there,

I recently had a bespoke suit made by Cad & The Dandy. The process was good an when trying everything on I was happy with the fit of both the jacket and the trousers. It's a double breasted suit.

Since picking it up last weekend, I've worn the suit a total of twice for a total of about 8 hours. A couple of things

1. I'm aware of the convention of keeping the double breasted suit buttoned while sitting. Currently this causes the lapel to bend at a level that's higher than the top button, when sitting.

2. This extra stress seems to have caused creases across the chest of the suit (see picture).

Am I doing something wrong or should I ask for alterations to be made?

Any help greatly appreciated.

You should NOT keep it buttoned whilst sitting, that is entirely wrong and plain daft. This is probably the cause of this minor issue.

I am inclined to think that you probably have too much waist tapering on your garment thus when button up the pulling existed, and when sit down the pulling makes a fold line.

How about bringing the garment back for a quick iron and loosen the waist?

Thanks - that makes sense, I'll aim to take it back next week. First experience with bespoke so...a little disappointed I guess

Fit issues are impossible to diagnose without seeing it on you. Those creases look like your jacket simply needs to be pressed. Personally I don't care if it's right or wrong, I unbutton my DB jackets when I sit because it's more comfortable for me. Post pics of you actually wearing your clothes while standing in a neutral stance if you want real advice.
