I'm looking for a perfect turtleneck fisherman sweater, a la Hemingway (please, someone correct me if he did not, in fact, wear an Aran Islands sweater). Loomed is OK, hand knit is preferred.

Suggestions / ideas about where to find one?

By "perfect" I mean not just 'authentic' but also 'comfortable' (which may imply that what I'm actually looking for is not authentic -- I understand that to suit their original purpose, these sweaters were knit from unscoured wool that retains its natural oils or lanolin making them water-resistant -- I personally have no desire to wear my sweater on the seas to 'break it in,' but rather would like to find one that is a pleasure to wear from the get go).

I believe I saw one on polo.com yesterday, though I can't remember for sure and can't attest to its authenticity. I may have also seen one in a Bullock & Jones catalog (you can check their websites). I noticed them because I'm searching for a cream colored, crewneck Aran sweater.

I'm in the same market and found two at Hammacher Schlemmer. Unfortunately, though, neither is a turtleneck; they offer a crew neck and a zip-neck.
