Is waist suppression best left to bespoke tailors to do?

It's a rather inexpensive alteration, that a good alteration tailor can do easily.

Yes - bespoke is the preferred option - you need a very good alterations tailor ( a skill in itself) if you want to avoid the butchered look.

IMO waistsuppression is easily accomplished by most tailors. What bespoke gives is the high armhole and hence better fitted chest, which accentuates waist suppression.
