Only just found this forum so firstly I want to say HELLO!

Also sorry if this is posted in a wrong section.

So we have four colours here. Is this too much?

Should the tie blend into the grey or khaki pants instead?

Would love an opinion from some style masters!

Welcome. I'd put this in the Quick Questions on Noodles' Advice thread. Four colors is fine. This ensemble is not bad.

Some things to think about: the tie is always the main accent piece of an ensemble. The tie should always contrast with the shirt (except when both are white), while at the same time complementing it. I think you've gone a bit too far towards the tie's complementing the shirt, and need a touch more contrast with it. When you have a burgundy tie on a pink-ground shirt, the pink background makes the burgundy POP; especially when it's set against the quiet frame of a gray coat. This ensemble IMO overdoes the tie's accent function. But again, it's not bad.

If that shirt is pink, I'd try a milk chocolate brown tie and a black tie. See how they look with the ensemble.

Thank you Testudo.

I can already see that this place is amazing :)

The shirt I'm wearing in this picture is white but I really like your suggestion of a pink shirt (which I have) and a chocolate milk tie I shall get my hands on, and also the Burgundy tie idea.

I also agree that the red tie is little too aggressive here against the white shirt. I just needed to hear other people say it.

It's only recently that I've incorporated sports jackets into my wardrobe and I'm still experimenting and putting together looks that I'll be happy and comfortable with wearing out.

I feel that I'm going to be here a long while ha!

Tecombre !!!

I will update this pic soon with your idea and see how it looks :)

White? My mistake. I should've looked more carefully--I guess the lighting and the tie were making it look pink. If it's white, that ensemble could well be just fine--depends on how dark a shade of red the tie is. A scarlet would pop a lot against the white shirt and gray coat--too much for my preferences, but men of good taste disagree with me on that one. A burgundy or maroon should be just fine.

This is what I'm thinking.

Although red also looks good to me, it's just a bit too loud for "me" That's what made me uncomfortable to begin with it I think.

Toning it down would be ideal.

I like loud but only when the colors match which in this case, it doesn't. If you could replace the jacket with a navy blue. That blends in better with the pants and tie color.
