Can't see the tie colour too clearly as it looks quite dark. Nonetheless, the design certainly looks conservative enough without being boring.

From what I can tell, it looks like a winner!

Good luck with the interview.

Not my taste, but it's not bad for an interview.

some might take issue with wearing a button-down collar with a suit, though.

Depends on your industry.

I say no purple. You are not there to make a statement about what you like. Purple can send an incorrect idea.

I'm surprised by how few realize this fact: tie selection for interviewing is completely contingent upon the industry (and, to a lesser extent, the attitude/atmosphere of the particular company). I'd say the tie is inappropriate for conservative industries, e.g., banking, law, etc.

I was thinking the same thing. Ditch the button-down collared shirt.

I would say so, it is a modest color and pattern which is sure to not be distracting to the interviewer. Given that it matches with the suit you have picked out, that is very important.

I think the tie is okay as it is dark enough. I agree with previous posters who said no on the button down shirt.

why? its pretty standard for most. Infact with the old money people you'd think it impossible to buy a shirt without a button down collar.

I hate the tie though.

I don't see a problem with the shirt collar. I dislike the tie though.

I agree with what others have said. Go with a more conservative tie.

an interviewer probably won't notice/care about a button down collar, but they may take exception to a loud/out-of-place tie.

How can such a dark tie be loud? I personally do not like the pattern, but I don't think it is a loud tie.

It's not just the color that is unusual. The pattern also is. Therefore it is a slight risk for an interview in a conservative industry.
