Is this hem job correct?

I live in an area without many options for tailoring or alterations. I’ve had two pair of pants hemmed lately at two different places, and I wanted to check to see if they were done improperly since I’m not really sure myself but suspect they weren’t.

One pair are dress pants, the other are chinos, and I didn’t ask for any particular type of hem job since I wouldn’t know what to ask for and assumed they would know how to accomplish this minor alternation.

The first pair of dress pants (blue) was hemmed in such a way that it looks more like the kind of hem I would expect on a pair of jeans, not dress pants. I’m not used to seeing the stitching of the hem so pronounced.

On the second pair of pants (chinos), the stitching of them hem is also visible, although much less so than the blue pair. When I look at other dress pants I can’t see ANY stitching at all on the hem.

Is what was done considered correct and if not, can they be unstitched and done correctly by someone else or do I need to live with it?

Thanks a lot!

What you want is a "blind stitch". The first picture is wrong and can be easily redone correctly.

The first one is wrong if those are what Americans call 'Dress Pants' for reasons unknown: Whether of course 45 changes that is an interesting possibility. Chinos must have that style of hem, Jeans have the type of hem with which they are made, most normally in yellow and 'Dress Pants' should have a blind stitch.
