Hi,

Recently, I bought a "what-looks-like" Eames lounger. I bought it from an estate sale from a pretty nice house in northshore Chicago. It has all the proportions of an Eames lounger, however, it has two plugs on either side of the bottom, which makes me think that it is not. I slid off the top of the head rest and the inside has the same sliding tools as the original. On the inside of the wood, it has stamped Finland 1979. I have attached two pictures of the actual chair and a picture of what the pegs look like from an online image of what someone claims is authentic. Please let me know if you recognize this chair, and if so, what price range it would be in.

Thanks,
Claire

The two things that stick out to me are:
1. The chair back looks too tall (common calling card for replica)
2. From these pictures, it looks like the chair has 4 legs coming out from the center post, when it should have 5

I do not know about the Made in Finland stamp. Also, picture aside, everything I have heard about Eames chairs says there should be no external visual screw/bolt/openings (in reference to those plugs)

However, replicas have value in their own regard
