Is this Corneliani tuxedo worth its price?

After lurking for several months, I have a pressing need for forum's advice. I was minutes away from pulling the trigger on a $1,600 (15% discount off retail) one-button, single-breasted, peak-label tuxedo from Corneliani (the label says "Corneliani Corneliani" and it's fully-canvassed).

Here's a (bad quality) picture I took in the store. I apologize for the price tag sticking out and the crooked bow tie. Note that, in the picture, the back/waist is darted already.

To have it ready before the event, I have to decide by tomorrow. Would appreciate any (even harsh) critique.

You should go down at least a size. The picture looks as if you are in your big brother's tux.

That's very steep for CC... like Canadian pricing? lol

I think the shoulder area might be ok, but might need a shorter jacket. Pants hem and sleeve obviously need some work.

That's a steep ticket.

Aside from the basic, obvious alterations, you might want to look at the fit in the shoulders.

EDIT: Ditto, jacket length is fine.

Thank you for all the feedback. The alterations they already planned to do are:
- Shorten the jacket by quarter/half-an-inch
- Shorten the sleeves
- Shorten the pants, bring in the waist (I'm a 31, the pants are 32)
- Bring in the waist on the jacket as well the entire back

The jacket is 38R - I'm usually between 36 and 38 in jackets, depending on the cut. This may explain the broad shoulders. For reference, an MTM suit a few months ago measured out to a 37" chest (and 31" pants).

What would be a normal price in the U.S.?

I don't like it...detail-wise it's up there for my taste but size-wise I think it makes you look really short and lost in the outfit. I've seen Corneliani in the 1200 range, I'm sure, and in Canada they regularly go for 1600-1800 if memory serves. At any rate, for the price I think you could do worlds better, time constraints excluded, of course.

If you're hard to fit OTR, for that kind of money, I'd just suck it up with a rental for now and have a proper one made at your leisure.
