Is this Corneliani suit legit?

I was vaguely looking around for something summer suit-ish and came across this item on Italian Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230805821814#ht_5403wt_1265

Fully expecting to enter a fierce bidding war I was baffled to see it go for the initial 50 euros (I was the only bidder).

I can't find anything extremely fishy about it, but a few things have me wondering.

1. Listed as new with tags, can't see any tag in any of the photos.
2. Listed as size EU 44 (US/UK 34) but is 100 cm (20 inches in chest). That sounds more like a 48 to me. I have asked seller for clarification on the above two points.
3. NWT Corneliani for 50 euros? Somethings GOT to be fishy.

I figured since that counterfeits are covered by Ebay buyer protection, unless there anything obviously wrong here I can pay it, have it shipped and then examined at the local Corneliani retailer (department store over here) and in the worst case invoke the buyer protection program. Anyone have experience with it?

Seller, if you are reading this post, please forgive my rudeness. I'm poor and an inexperienced Ebayer.

Looks fishy to me.

Get a clear photo of the undercollar, the felling of the lining at the hem, and some interior shots of the trousers. If seller won't give you shots of those, pm me when you receive it.

Is identifying eBay stuff a new sideline for you?

Much in your debt for your kind assistance, jefferyd. I’ve sent a polite request for the extra photos and we'll see what turns up.

+1
Suggest go to shops that you can trust.

The Ebay buyer protection scheme means on paper that E-bay will refund the full amount including shipping for counterfeit items if the original seller refuses to do so.

In reality, I can imagine it's not always possible to provide adequate proof that an item in question is counterfeit.
If anyone have experience in extracting this refund from Ebay after discovering counterfeit items I'd love to hear your story.

It wouldn't be the first time...

If it comes to that, I know the guy who was their designer & patternmaker. If he's not enough of an authority on it for Ebay, nobody is.

OP is really getting his $62.98 worth out of this.

I would charge him 10% of the sale price for the authentication services, maybe bump it up to 15% if the designer and pattern maker for Corneliani joins the fray.

No **** indeed!
I only know jefferyd as this almost mythological figure from that huge tailoring thread I don't dare to post in, so it's a bit like having the suit-fairy decend.

I'll try to provide something of value back to the community, with the best of my humble ability.
