I just received this Paul Stuart suit and am thinking that aside from some obvious issues (waist is a bit too full for my liking & sleeves are too long), the coat itself might extend past what is widely considered preferrable.

Opinions? Excuse the OCBD/chinos, I just got home from work.

Looks too long, but hard to tell with a single pic. Does it extend well past your seat?

Eh, not really. I'll take a side profile in a little while.

Looks like it's within the realm of preference - though my preference is for a bit shorter.

    You work? [IMG]

yea, I think take a side view pic and also the overall pic (showing the whole body) would help better determine

If it covers your seat, than it is fine. However, I like mine to be slightly shorter, ideally touching the tip of my thumb. I find that this length usually touches slightly under my seat. However, none of us have perfect bodies, so your mileage may vary.

Judging by the side picture, I'd say that yes, it's too long by about 1-1.5" IMO.

Nice looking suit! The sleeves are a bit uneven, but the length of the jacket is OK by me. Have your tailor shape up the sides and fix the sleeve cuffs and you will be good to go.

Triple post...impressive! [IMG] It is indeed a cool suit...great subtle blue windowpane.

I have a bit of an oddly-shaped body. My torso is very short respective to my legs, so a longer jacket doesn't make me look so stumpy (see last picture). I've gone for short sized jackets in the past, and they're often so short that they look feminine.

No way that coat is an inch too long. Half inch, maybe. Maybe. Actually, I'm not sure it's too long at all.

I personally prefer my coat to be a little shorter than that, but I wouldn't say that it's too long.

Your sleeves, particularly your left sleeve don't look too short either.

Is it the angle of the picture? Based on the picture, you certainly shouldn't take up the sleeve.

I think that is a great length, imo the lenght is spot on. This is a nice pattern you have chosen.

Interestingly enough, I just pinned the jacket in the back so as to account for the amount of material I'd like taken in. The jacket honestly looks shorter when this is done. Maybe because the quarters seem to be pulled a bit closer to the body?

You'd have to post full length back and side pictures to tell if the coat is too long. From your half length side picture, the coat goes well pass your buttock cheek by some 2". I'd say it is at least 1" too long, but you might have very long legs to balance it off [IMG]

from the upper body alone, looks a bit long, but overall, taking the legs into acct. looks fine I think
