What is his SF name? Has he sold here? Have you purchased from him before?

If you really want to find him here a quick search would probably sort it out...

The logo tag looks suspiciously glued on, which I've never seen on an Asprey case. Usually, it is sewn on.

Its mine - and of course authentic. It was here in B&S for a month or so in a few of my threads. The bag is a bit older, hence a difference in the tag application, perhaps? In any case, its a stunner and there is free worldwide shipping for any SF member. If you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me.

^I know you wouldn't knowingly sell an inauth bag, but I was honestly curious about it, too. Even older Asprey, I wonder why the "ASPREY" tag is in a totally different leather than the rest of the bag? It DOES look glued on, or something of an afterthought.

Do you mind telling us where you got it? Again, I don't doubt YOU, I'm just curious about the odd branding. Does it have ASPREY written or inscribed anywhere else (on the locks, for example?)

Regardless, it is a nice item and worth the price being asked. Good ostrich is very $$$ these days, and it is a nice case!

This certainly is lovely. But was anyone besides me a little surprised at the measurements quoted? At least from the pictures, I'd have said that the dimensions would be closer to 16 x 13 rather than the 6.5 x 13 cited.

The questions as to authenticity are valid but I have seen vintage Asprey stuff with similar non-branding. The name is always on a leather patch and glued on somewhere inside the bag. Many different fonts and types of patches too.

Thanks; I wasn't for sure. I've seen smaller vintage Asprey items (and had a few wallets and travel items), but the name was always stamped, not on a separate piece. I wasn't sure about larger or hard-sided items.

Thanks for all the interest guys - where were you all when it was on B&S?

Im no expert on Asprey, but I did some digging and found similar logos on some older pieces. The case is from an extraordinarily wealthy individual who commissioned several pieces from Asprey. There is a pretty fair chance this was a bespoke commission, hence any quirks. Not 100% sure about that, but its a fairly solid guess. And yes - I screwed up the measurements - its 16.5" not 6.5". Sorry about that and good eye - however eBay in their infinite genius wont let you edit the original post once there is a bid. However over 900 people have looked at it and you are the only one who brought it up...

If anyone else has any questions, let me know - and thanks!
