All nicer watches are replicated. This one is probably real, although I am no expert. Just a suggestion though for the price why not get a nice automatic of some kind.

Seems fine, but I would definitly go asking people on specialized forum like;
http://forums.watchuseek.com/forumdisplay.php?f=25

You could make a post right there, and maybe PM dmr33, he is THE pro out there on identifing counterfeit.
Good luck with your purchase

Tag is one of the most faked wathes due to popularity with the masses. Not saying this one is a fake though.

I own a Tag quartz watch. Works great, well made and I got a great deal on it new.

It was more of itch I had to scratch then a smart puchase. When I was I high school it was one of those items I always said I would buy I bought. So in my 20's when I had enough money to afford one, I bought one.

Is still wear it and get let of "nice watch" when I do have it one. From time to time I ask people why they like it? And they say "it's a Tag".

If I wear you and you didn't have a Tag fetish, I would have a hard look at Hamilton Auto.

Its real , but my question to you is, why spend that kind of money on a QUARTZ watch? You can get fantastic automatic watches for that kind of money.

I owned 3 fake Tags years ago. And compared them against real ones, and so knowing what to look for I'd put money on that one being real.

However, they're a bit naff! Like someone else said, why pay so much for a quartz/battery watch?

Get something "real" instead in the same price range. Some of the Seiko and Certina automatics look wonderful. Or even an Oris or Jacques Lemans. To name my favourite brands in and just above that price range.

The original company was named HEUER from Germany, It was sold to a French company called Techniques Avant Garde, thus (TAG) Heuer. You should think about investing in an original automatic Heuer Dive watch. Much more interesting than a Quartz watch that is endorsed by some golfer (Tiger Woods) who actually wears a Gold Presidential Rolex Day/Date!

I don't know why the other posters are telling you it's real. The image looks like it was taken off a website, and is not a photo of the actual watch.

The seller has a good feedback rating, but it looks like most of his 369 sales are for used books that he sells for under $10. There are a lot of fake watch listings that are posted on ebay accounts of sellers who have positive feedback from a lot of small sales or purchases.

If you see a watch on ebay where there are no pictures of the actual watch you are purchasing, assume it is fake. If you see a watch on ebay from a seller who does not have a high feedback rating from watch sales (i.e. is a reputable watch dealer) assume the watch is fake. If you see a watch with a selling price that is unusually attractive based on what you would expect the price of such a watch to be after careful research, assume the watch is fake.

If you don't want to do enough research into watches to be certain that you can identify a genuine product on ebay yourself, do not buy a watch on ebay.

Edit: I did not scroll all the way down the listing to see the pics. That probably is just a guy unloading his watch. Still a quartz watch with signs of significant use. Not a great deal.

Auction says new and never worn but those pics are terrible or show actual scratches, albeit faint ones.

Current bid is already too high for a TAG Quartz in my opinion. Brand new from an AD this watch goes for about $1200.

Keep searching. Try the sales forum on timezone as well. I have seen better automatic watches by Omega and others for under or about $1000.
