Hi everyone, been lurking here for quite some time so I thought it's about time that I start posting.

About a moth ago, I purchased a grey Balmain blazer off ebay, the seller assured me that it's guaranteed to be 100% authentic, upon un-boxing it, the blazer was fine and felt great to me, the stitching, material...etc was fine, however, the thing that felt off was the eagle brooch that came with the blazer, somehow it looked...cheap, I just couldn't understand how such an expensive piece could come with such a poor hardware, I payed $900+ shipping and it is said to retail for about $3500, I uploaded detailed pictures for you guys to take a look at it, please don't hesitate to ask for more detailed pictures in case you need them to verify the piece's authenticity.

"Balmain" appears to be spelled correctly. So you shouldn't have to worry about that.

Phew, thanks guys, but what baffles me is why is the eagle brooch made so poorly as apposed to the jackets price tag, you'd expect something of higher end.

what exactly do you mean by poorly made..? It feels like a lightweight piece of aluminum? The brooch can't be that heavy or it would weigh the lapel down and eventually deform your jacket.

Yeah exactly, I thought about that too, you're right, I guess I was just being a little neurotic.

The brooch is almost as big as your hand! Surely it is just a marketing/branding device rather than an actual piece of jewelry. Did you expect it to be solid silver? You have a jacket with original tags from Mr. Porter so what are the odds someone faked these? If you are worried about having purchased a counterfeit you should not be focussing on that ugly bird but rather comparing the manufacturers tag to legitimate products.

Yes, the bird goes in the rubbish.

Overall, how does the jacket fit?

Looks authentic. The Mr. Porter tag also inspires confidence. Not sure I like the jacket's styling, though. But it's your call.

I don't know, I think depends on where I'm wearing it though.

lol, I didn't expect it to be solid silver, but I expect it it to look a little better overall, but I guess the whole weight argument makes sense.

Fits quite well actually, although it's quite small for a size 50, I usually wear somewhere between 46 and 48, and this one fits just fine.

No, I bought it from someone in NY on ebay.

Don't suppose it matters what it's made of, just as long as you show and brand whore with it.
