Is this an acceptable defect?

Just got these Carmina LWBs in the mail today, and noticed the following:

It looks like they missed when they were punching out the eyelet. Is this something that would be deemed as an acceptable defect, or would this have been sold as a second-grade?

I wouldn't accept that. IMO, that would definitely qualify as a second. I know it's a hassle to mail them back but I would be really annoyed by that. I'm not one who looks for perfection either. That's a missed punch and you'll see it every time you lace up. Send Carmina a pic and see what they can do for you.

Well, I didn't pick them up from Carmina - they were purchased secondhand here at SF, but the issue wasn't disclosed. I brought this up in a PM with the seller, but he told me the following:

"I cant tell what you mean? It looks fine to me. If it really bothers you, you can just throw a bit of reno on there and buff it right out.

Please keep in mind this was a factory made shoe, it wasn't hand clicked."

I didn't want to press the issue since as I didn't really know whether or not something like this was really acceptable. I don't really mind it too much, but do you think that it's at least appropriate to ask for some discount?

They essentially do. It's certainly not something that is going to prompt me to want to send the shoe back, but I figured that getting at least a small amount of the purchase price back would be acceptable.
