A better place to ask would be:

http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=threadt&frm_id=5

It would also be helpful to have a shop open the back so that you could get:

1. A picture of the movement;
2. The number on the movement; and
3. The numbers on the inside of the case-back.

With these it should be a piece of cake to give a good estimation on whether the watch is real.

It is not a fake.

It is not worth a lot, this is a Genève model I think this particular one is not automatic

I have seen automatic ones for sale here between $300-$450 depending on the condition

here you have an example http://my.ricardo.ch/accdb/viewItem.asp?IDI=508285540

There are more and more fake vintage Omega's coming out every day, including fake gold Connie cases.

I know a lot more about watches than clothes and am glad to give my opinion.

It appears real. It looks as if the date wheel has been replaced with a black one (the original would have been silver with black numbers). The crystal needs a polish which can be done with brasso. Just tape around the case and use a clean rag with some brasso and elbow grease, the scratches will dissapear.

I would recommend a service by a watchmaker. Probably cost $100 or so and then the watch will be worth $350 or so.

Nice watch for sure.

I have a Seamaster DeVille from the mid 60's which looks quite a but like yours and I wear it on a very dark brown strap and it goes with everything.

They're Rolex, less the hyperbole and inflated price.

Looks OK to me.

There is a tendency to think that the vintage stuff isn't faked but they have been faking since day one. You still need to keep your wits about you or you could end up with this....
