Is there such a thing as a summer weight cardigan?

I've been wearing cardigans a lot to break up the monotony of a button-up shirt tucked into a pair of trousers. I don't want to give up this look now that its getting warmer out, but I don't want to torture myself by wearing a sweater in 90 degree Texas heat.

A lightweight blazer isn't really an option. Professional business attire here is khakis and boat shoes. I'll look like I'm from another planet. I've considered vests, but I'm not keen on the look unless its underneath a suit jacket.

Yes. They are usually a Silk/cotton blend, very lightweight to the point where you can see through the weave slightly.

I recently bought a caridgan from Engineered Garments that is made of a tshirt esque fabric.
