Men who wear black sneakers with suits? Do they think people dont notice? These have to be the same guys who wear track suits on airplanes, black knee socks with shorts and think the comb-over still works like a charm.

Sorry, but had to rant. Why why why cant they just put on a pair of traditional dress shoes? Not asking for them to be rocking Vass or C&J double monks. Just go to Johnston and Murphy and buy something decent to go with your ill fitting, fused, baggy, pleated, cuffed suit.

OK, Im done. Tks for listening.

I think it's because a lot of magazines (and other "fashion" websites) seem to promote alternative styles like that. I've read in dozen of magazines where the "fashion gurus" of said magazine have said it's completely acceptable to wear suits and sneakers (or whatever) for a more fresh and rocked look.

Same reason why you see people in the most ridiculous suits and shirt combos, it's to stand out and not look like a boring trad. The timeless, classic and correct styles we praise over here, may seem like typical Old-man style to the average man wearing a suit 3 times a year (and often in very casual environments).

That's the only explanation I can come up with. Classic, correct and traditional comes off like boring to many people.

My pet peeve nr. 1: Guys that wear black suits, black shirts and white ties (w/Oversized sports commentator style double windsor knot)
