i hate youI can't help you, but let me be the first to warmly welcome you in those who share this particular symptom of early middle age
ok, see how we go....i've been wearing glasses since i was in junior high, so i know a lot about wearing glasses. what's your question?
That's a lot for a first pair of glasses. Did you procrastinate for years?2. these lenses are about 7mm thick

We don't know your age, so that might be a factor with your glasses.
Its going to take about a week or two for you to get acclimated to glasses. Maybe, you could wear them for truncated periods in the beginning, and wear them longer as you time passes.
but I don't know what the qualifications of optometrists in Vietnam are like- do they need to go to school for that in Vietnam?
In your special case, you might want to wait till you return to Australlia or America for your special needs
There's a lot of different materials out there which has have different thicknesses and weights. The thinner and lighter ones are more expensive, and it might be more important to get the right prescription. These lens can be a big difference.
he needed special hard contact lens since it helped control the growth. The problem is that they're really hard to prescribe, and most optometrists are reluctant to do them. You might try looking for a specialist in that who might be able to give you a better or maybe even more honest answer.
wow everyone on this thread things im aging. My 29th bday is July 10 and I am going to cling to each of the 365 days that keeps me south of thirty. thirty. ****. *shudder*I thought you were older gentlemen since you used the term magnification 14. I thought you were talking about reading glasses.
let me demonstrate how near sighted (and the diff these glasses have made)... i have a copy of the Da Vinci Code with this cover....I'm assuming you're near sighted, right?
yeah im thinking that may be a good idea, work my way up to the level that i need over a few months. Get some 4s...keep them a month...get some 6s etc, work up to 14 My left eye is perfect as I said btw, so its not like I am blind and useless - more an aggravation than an impairment. I think (based on no knowledge at all) that Im really messing with my sense of balance having lived with this problem for so long and then suddenly bringing in the 7mm guns to solve it. Another reason to progress thru a few lenses to get back to these thick thingsBut, if the mag is referring to the power, then something that big sounds too much if these are your first glasses. I'd do what Alchimiste suggested and getting weaker glasses first before wearing mag 14. That might be why you're getting the headaches. I would also hypothesize that the different lens you need for each eye might also be an issue as well.
oh no doubt - byt my eye is too complicated to be solved by professionals in developed countries who pissfart about and then dont solve it - one of the upsides of vietnam is if you give the guy $30 he provides something of a solution on the spot. Not like he can make it much worse that it is now - its already useless.Your eyes sound too complicated for just an amateur in Vietnam. Can you order the lens to be sent to this opt. in Vietnam?
thats not a bad idea.Is there a opt. school in Vietnam? They might be able to give you the best glasses considering your limited oppurtunities.
think i can buy on ebay at 14 mag with no prescription?I use polycarb which is lighter and also thinner than regular glass and plastic. Its also harder to shatter.
