Gents:

anyone know if there is anything made in US or England that uses cordovan leather and is in a similar style to Brooks Alden tassel loafer?

My wife and I were at Brooks today (first time we've _ever_ been to an after Xmas sale) -- and she wants a pair of Alden tassle loafers in her size (Women's sized 7 - petite or slim-fitting).

Any leads would be appreciated.

I can't think a women would look good in cordovan, too heavy a leather, too masculine. It's a little too "women's pro golfer," if you know what I mean.

Crockett & Jones makes a women's tassel loafer in calf, but also does work in cordovan. Perhaps they would do a special order, although some have said they charge a prohibitive special order fee.

Couldn't you get something like men's size 6? (I think that's approximately a women's 7, but that's just a guess).  would that work?  Alden's website indicates that the shell cordovan tasseled loafers are available in size 6D (and only in that width).

Allen Edmonds also does the burgundy shell cordovan in a men's 6D (and also only in that width).  Any smaller than that, or any variation in the width at that size, and you're probably in special order territory.

Please contact Mr. Adam. I made contact with him about women's Alden 5-6 years ago. At that time, he accepted a personal order.
